Dear Curious Adventurers,
Today, I’m taking you one step further on our journey to bLuzLand.
“BORBOLETA” (English: The Butterfly) – the 5th song, the 5th station, will be released on Bicycle Day. No, it’s not an invitation to take drugs, but rather to explore the theme of duality again: this time between reality and dream. What should we wish for? Shall we embark and surrender to the exhausting metamorphosis?
Excerpt from the lyrics by Paula Toschi:
“A flor fez à Lua um pedido / ‘Me deixa, oh astro, me deixa voar! / O mundo está descolorido, / Sofrido, cansado – e eu posso enfeitar!’”
(Translation)
“The flower made a request to the Moon / ‘Let me, oh celestial body, let me fly! / The world is colorless, / Suffering, tired – and I can embellish it!’”
In the spirit of bLuzLand, BORBOLETA is another invitation to overcome boundaries and give more space to beauty. Inspired by the parable “The Butterfly Dream” by Zhuangzi, BORBOLETA explores the blur of boundaries and invites reflection on the identity debate.
“BORBOLETA” is the fifth song on our journey to the light universe bLuzLand, the first album of my trio with Oliver van Thiel and Tim Rilke. www.julakim.de/borboleta/
